When I started thinking about college and what I wanted to do, i remember that I kept wishing that someone had told me a bit about their search. Reading about a person who is going through the same stuff as me for some reason always makes me feel more secure about what i'm doing. It allows me to know that I am not the only one going through a situation. This is life! So many people go through the same darn stuff as eachother. So Instead of mopping around because I could not find any once upon a time juniors/senior students documentations of their lives, I thought, "Hey! I should tell others about my life as a high school junior, searching for colleges, searching for scholarships and trying to figure out who the heck I am in this crazy little world of ours."
So, let me welcome you to my first post about a junior in a little liberal arts high school, who is searching for colleges.
So let me share a bit about myself.
What Type of Student am I?:
I'm an International Baccalaureate student. Wondering what the heck that is? Then let me give you this Wikipedia snippet:
“The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) is an elite two-year educational programme for students aged 16–19 that provides an internationally accepted qualification for entry into higher education, and is recognised by universities worldwide. It was developed in the early to mid-1960s in Geneva by a group of international educators. Following a six-year pilot programme ending in 1975, a bilingual diploma was established. Only a few schools in the entire world are choosen for this program. After graduation most go off to elite, top schools.”

So many people ask me what that is, so I decided to share.
Dream Job:
I want to be a journalist. My dream is to work at CNN one day. ^_^ . One day you’ll see a show called Ama360 lolz.
What am I looking for? What have I done so far?
I want to go to a school with a great journalism program that is in the Northeast (so the New York, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut area. That’s it.) I’ve visited one school so far, Northeastern University. But I plan to visit many, many more.
I’ve applied for one scholarship so far the Princeton Prize in Race Relations. But I need more, so I’m hunting like crazy.
So what I thought I would do with this blog is just share my college visits, how I’m looking for schools, scholarships, opportunities and of course my life as a kid in high school. It’s really hard to balance school, studying for SAT’s (or ACT’s in some peoples cases), IB tests (which I’ll take next year, kind of like an AP test) and trying to do all the stuff I love (poetry slams, writing, blogging on my other blog The Writing Junkie), running a poetry group, being part of a Literary Magazine, swimming, drawing, reading and trying to constantly find an agent for my novel).
So I’ll try to post up what I’m doing with this life of mine every so often.
